Dear MAIN Members,
The number one goal of MAIN is to strengthen our area colorguard programs through community support, qualified adjudication and up-to-date education.
In order to achieve this goal, we have an obligation to ensure the safety of our participants and fans.
The Executive Board has been in constant communication reviewing the many recommendations of the CDC, WHO, and local government officials regarding the COVID-19 pandemic affecting our region.
After a lot of discussion and heartbreak, we have made the decision to end the remainder of the 2020 season, effective immediately.
It has become clear that it would be impossible to continue holding events given the social distancing recommendations put into place both nationally and locally. It is highly unlikely that our region will be back to normal in five weeks as this is an unprecedented situation. In making this announcement, we want to provide as much opportunity for closure as possible for this abrupt end of the season.
As unit directors and instructors ourselves, we understand how disappointing this is for everyone involved. Please know that all your hard work the last few months HAS been productive – you were seen! Your performances were felt, and your growth as units and individuals was certainly noticed and recognized, even if only by your teammates and staff. Everything in life is about the journey, not the destination. While we are sad that our journey has been cut short, we are so lucky to have experienced it with all of you.
Thank you for your support and understanding. We will continue to communicate with you regarding specific information such as refunds that may be issued if your team did not compete at all this season. Please be patient with us as we navigate this uncharted territory and sort through our information. As always you can reach out with specific questions and we will do our best to respond in a timely manner.
Be well and stay safe,
MAIN Executive Board
